U Min Tun Lin is now Yangon United head coach

Yangon United appointed new head coach U Min Tun Lin in a place of former head coach U Tin Maung Tun on 27 August, consistent with the team statement. The contract with the new head coach will continue until end of the 2021 MNL season, said the official statement.

U Min Tun Lin served as an assistant coach for Myanmar National eleven and currently acting as a head coach and giving training to the team’s players starting on 28 August, said the source with the Yangon United. U Min Tun Lin also served as Zwekapin United head coach in 2018, and he did an excellent job as he could raise Zwekapin United to the third place “I’m overwhelmed to be a head coach of Yangon United. It was an amazing offer for me. I’ll try my best with the team to receive all the challenges that are expecting ,” said U Min Tun Lin. Yangon United terminated the contract with former head coach U Tin Maung Tun on 27 August, and consequently, he was assigned at Yangon United Football Academy for youth football development.

Yangon United faced a 3-1 defeat to Hantharwady United in a Week-11 of Myanmar National League match played yesterday at Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon.Head coach, U Myo Min Tun’s Hantharwady United, used its reliable players Nan Wai Min,Ko Ko Naing, Bissa, Emeka and Moukailou. In the meantime, head coach U Tin Maung Tun’s Yangon United lined up with key players including captain cum keeper Kyaw Zin Htet, Maung Maung Lwin, Yan Naing Oo, Kaung Htet Soe and Emmanuel.Both teams played with energy from the start, but Hantharwady United was more robust than their opponents for yesterday’s match, exhibiting flawless defence and good tackling.In 39 minutes, Yangon United missed a goal opportunity as there was an enormous misunderstanding seen between Maung Maung Lwin and Barfo ahead of the goal post. But, with another chance, Yangon United’s striker, Emmanuel scored an icebreaker over an assist of his teammate Maung Maung Lwin at 42 minutes.

Hein Htet Aung scored an equalizer at 52′. Consequently, Hantharwady got a number one goal at 58 minutes and therefore the goal was scored by foreign player Donald Bissa.The win was ensured for Hantharwady United with a 3rd goal scored by Hantharwady star Emeka Ndubuisi at 81-minute mark. Striker Mung Theih Pau was declared the best player for the month after scoring six goals for the team in five matches.

The winning goal for Ayeyawady was scored by foreign player Success.With the 4-2-3-1 setting formation, Yangon United played carefully with a robust attack on Ayeyawady United.Ayeyawady United began their attack from the match start, keeping busy Yangon United defenders and keeper Kyaw Zin Htet. Again, Yangon United tried to dominate their opponents with attacks by Aung Kyaw Naing, Barfo and Mg Mg Lwin, but Ayeyawady United’s defense line held its place to dam any scoring opportunities. At the ultimate whistle, Ayeyawady United celebrated 1-0 over Yangon United.

Yangon United midfielder Mg Mg Lwin said that the match will not be an easy one.“The match will be difficult for both teams. I would like to ask our fans to please have a look at the performance of our team on the pitch,” he said. The midfielder also said his team is aiming for winning the championship. “We need  win this match as we are aiming for the championship,” he said.“The most vital thing is that we must not lose the match against Ayeyawady United. If we lose to our opponents, we may slide to the third place,” he added.“A draw result can help our team stand second with goal difference. My teammates have prepared well,” he added.

Meanwhile, Ayeyawady United is within the third place with an equivalent points, but with goal difference. Defending champions of the Myanmar National League, Shan United, played to a 1-1 draw against Magwe FC within the Week-9 match of the MNL yesterday at the Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon.Shan United lined up with key players Zin Min Tun, Maximin, and Armah, while Nanada Kyaw, keeper Thina Sithu, and David Htan were in the substitute list.

Magwe FC lined up with all key players and attacked Shan United from the starting whistle.Magwe FC got their leading goal at 23 minutes, and the goal was scored by Wai Yan Tun. After the score turned 1-0, Shan United tried to dominate the play, but some misunderstanding between the players led to the team missing scoring opportunities

Shan United started the second half with new tactics.The equalizer for Shan United was scored by the team’s key striker Zin Min Tun at 74 minutes.After 1-1, Shan United got more chances for goals, but the team strikers could not convert due to the massive defense put up by Magwe FC, and the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
