Shan United eyes youth defender Thet Paing Htwe

Shan United, the Myanmar National League defending champions, have eyes on Zwekapin United’s youth defender Thet Paying Htwe, onsistent  th the MNL statement.Shan United’s head coach U Aung Naing said that the team is currently testing the football skills of the player. “We are now testing his football skill in our football club. If he fixes with our team we would like to recruit him. As for now, all the football matches are freezing and that we got to wait and see upcoming conditions of the tourneys,” he added.Thet Paing Htwe was a key player of the Zwekapin United and showed his best skill within the beginning season of the 2020 Myanmar National League. As Shan United is looking to feature more talented players within the squad because the team targets to win the championship trophy, the team is arranging to recruit Myanmar veteran defender Win Min Htut within the near future, consistent with the football club.

The U-22 men’s football team of Myanmar won the bronze medal after beating Cambodia 7-6 in a penalty shootout in the 30th SEA Games at the Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila, the Philippines yesterday.The match which ended 2-2 in 90 minutes has to play a penalty shootout in which Cambodia missed a goal.The goals in 90 minutes for Myanmar were scored by Aung Kaung Mann at 9th minute and Myat Kaung Khant at 35th minute, while the goals for Cambodia were scored by Chanthea at 1st minute and Sokpheng at 71st minute. In the penalty shootout, Htet Phyo Wai, Lwin Moe Aung, Nay Moe Naing, Ye Yint Aung and Win Naing Tun scored the goals for Myanmar, while Sadavid, Muslim, Piseth ,Rosib scored the goals for Cambodia. Viet Nam beat Indonesia 3-0 and claimed the championship title. The goals for Viet Nam were scored by Doan Van Hau at 39th and 73rd minutes and Do Hung Dung at 59th minute. The best goalscorers are Osvaldo Haay from Indonesia and Ha Duc Chinh from Viet Nam with eight goals each, and followed by Nguyen Tien Linnh with six goals. The champions of 2017 SEA Games was Thailand, and followed by runners-up Malaysia, third place Indonesia and fourth place Myanmar.

A late goal scored by Yee Yee Oo, 10 minutes before the final whistle, helped Myanmar defeat host Philippines by 2-1 in yesterday’s match for the third place in the women’s football event at the South East Asian Games, held at the Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila, the Philippines.Myanmar lined up with Mya Phoo Ngon, Aye Aye Moe, Khin Than Wai, Chit Chit, Khaing Thazin, Nge Nge Htwe, Khin Mo Mo Tun, Captain Khin Marlar Tun, Yee Yee Oo, Nu Nu, and July Kyaw.Team Myanmar were slow to act in the first half, and that helped Philippines create goal chances, but they could not convert, and the first half ended with a scoreless result.The Philippines team fared better in the second half, with Quinley Quezada scoring the opening goal at 57 minutes.
The goal prompted Myanmar to redouble their efforts to score, with July Kyaw scoring the equalizer at 78 minutes with a header off a free-kick assist.With the tally at 1-1, Myanmar did not reduce their tempo, and Myanma veteran player Yee Yee Oo netted another goal for the team at 80 minutes by taking advantage of an error in Philippines defense.There were no more goals in the remaining ten minutes, and the match ended with a win for Myanmar. With the 2-1 victory, Myanmar secured the third place and the bronze medal in the women’s football competition at the SEA Games.Speaking about the match, Myanmar head coach U Win Thu Moe is talking about this match was difficult though my team got a victory. Team Philippines is improving and underwent much preparation for the SEA Games. The bronze medal is meant for my players’ efforts. I want to express my thanks to my team and the team’s supporters.” In the final match, Viet Nam took the gold medal by beating Thailand by 0-1.

The Myanmar U-22 men’s national football team beat the Philippines U-22 team by 2-1 in the second Group A match of the men’s football competition at the 30th SEA Games, which was held yesterday at the Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila, the Philippines.Led by head coach Velizar Popov, team Myanmar lined up with goalkeeper Sann Sat Naing, Soe Moe Kyaw, Ye Yint Aung, Ye Min Thu, Aung Wunna Soe, Aung Naing Win, Lwin Moe Aung, Captain Hlaing Bo Bo, Myat Kaung Khant, Htet Phyoe Wai, and Aung Kaung Mann.Myanmar dominated the play from the start with midfield line assistive attacking, using just one striker, Aung Kaung Mann, and five midfielders, Captain Hlaing Bo Bo, Lwin Moe Aung, Aung Naing Win, Htet Phyoe Wai, and Myat Kaung Khant.Striker Aung Kaung Mann and midfielder Myat Kaung Khant worked well together in the first half to create several goal chances, but they could not convert them in the first 15 minutes.
But, at 16 minutes, taking advantage of an error in the Philippines defense line, Myat Kaung Khant lifted the ball towards Aung Kaung Mann, sending it over the Philippines defenders, and Aung Kaung Mann sent the ball straight through the legs of the Philippines goalkeeper Anthony Pinthus.The goal for Myanmar spurred the Philippines players to score an equalizer.
Philippines player Mikel Justin Bass netted the equalizer at 45 minutes, and the first half ended with the two teams tied at 1-1.In the second half, Myanmar changed their tactics and brought in striker Win Naing Tun in place of Aung Kaung Mann, who had scored the first goal for Myanmar and seemed tired due to making scoring opportunities in the first half.After the substitution, Myanmar’s forward line was more active, with speedy play by Win Naing Tun, which kept the Philippines defenders busy.By relying on counter attacks, Myanmar got their second goal at 79 minutes. The goal was scored by substituted striker Win Naing Tun over a slow assist from midfielder Myat Kaung Khant.The second goal made Myanmar confident of a win, and the team changed their tempo to midfield and defense style. The match ended with a single-goal victory for Myanmar. After the match, the Myanmar U-22 players celebrated their win with Myanmar fans by singing the Myanmar national anthem.

The Myanmar men’s football team suffered a 0-2 loss against the Chinese team in the opening match of the AFC U-19 Championship 2002 Qualifiers yesterday at the Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon. Myanmar lined up with goalkeeper Pyae Phyo Thu, Captain Si Thu Moe Khant, Thet Hein Soe, Nyan Lin Htet, Yan Kyaw Soe, Zaw Win Thein, La Min Htwe, Saw Kyaw Ae, Khun Kyaw Zin Hein, Kaung Khant Kyaw, and Hein Htet Aung. Myanmar head coach is U Soe Myat Min, but could not convert till the final whistle, and the match ended with China winning by two goals. Myanmar U-19 men’s football team head coach U Soe Myat Min said: “There were so many errors seen in the defense line and that all made goal chances for team China.Though my boys got scoring opportunities, they could not convert them into goals. I will take the lesson to prepare for the next matches in the tourney. A lossing on opening match is a tough game for our team. But the reason I will try my best is that everything can happen in football.”“I will make my team’s attack play style better during our training session. And, I have already been well prepared for the players setting due to the probable players’ injuries and ailments,” U Soe Myat Min added.

In 2019, has taken the awards for the best player and coach, declared by the organizing committee of the league for the months of August and September.Nanda Kyaw, the left side defender of the team, has been declared the best player, and head coach U Aung Naing has been deemed the best coach for the month of August and September by the MNL.An awards ceremony was held for the team on 24 September, before the General Aung San Shield final match between Shan United and Yangon United.
U Aung Naing got a cash award of K100,000, while Nanda Kyaw received K150,000.Under U Aung Naing, the team won all four matches it played in August and September.
Shan United defender Nanda Kyaw scored two goals for the team and made the best four goal assists to his teammates during the period.After winning the 2019 edition of the Myanmar National League this month, Shan United has been recorded as the very first team to win the MNL Championship title with an undefeated result in history.

In preparation for the 2019 South East Asian Games, which will be held in the Philippines in November and December this year, the Myanmar women’s national football team or the senior team beat the U-19 or junior team by 3-2 in a friendly match yesterday afternoon on the artificial turf in Bahan Township of Yangon.The match proved to an exciting one, and both teams made all-out efforts to score. U Zaw Zaw, the vice president of the Asian Football Confederation and the president of the Myanmar Football Federation, came to watch the match and afterwards spoke words of encouragement to players from both teams.The match was a good experience for both teams as players will be chosen from the two teams, according to officials.The women’s football event of the 2019 South East Asian Games will take place between 25 November and 9 December at the Binan Football Stadium in Laguna, Philippines, and national women’s football teams from ASEAN countries will participate in the event. The Myanmar women’s football team has already collected a bronze medal at the 2013 SEA Games, which took place in Myanmar.

Four goalkeepers have been selected on the team — Kyaw Zin Phyo, Pyae Phyo Aung, Pyae Lian Aung, and Sann Sat Naing.The ten defenders selected on the squad are Zaw Min Tun, Soe Moe Kyaw, Zaw Lin, Zaw Ye Tun, Pyae Phyo Zaw, David Htan, Kyaw Zin Lwin, Win Moe Kyaw, Nanda Kyaw, and Hein Thiha Zaw.There are eight midfielders on the team: Yan Aung Kyaw, Lwin Moe Aung, Nyein Chan Aung, Hlaing Bo Bo, Maung Maung Lwin, Kyi Lin, Si Thu Aung, and Suan Lan Mang.The team also includes seven strikers: Kyaw Ko Ko, Aung Thu, Win Naing Soe, Than Paing, Kaung Sithu, Dway Ko Ko Chit, and Zin Min Tun.On 25 September and will leave for Kyrgyzstan next month.

Yangon United F.C. claimed the General Aung San Shield for the second time in two years after beating Shan United F.C. No more goals were scored till the end of the first half.
In the second half, Yangon United’s Sylla scored the first goal for the team at the 51st minute.The second goal for Shan United was scored by Zwe Thet Paing at 65th minutes, while the second goal for Yangon United was scored by Soe Min Naing at 90+1st minutes. The third goal for Yangon United was scored by Min Kyaw Khant at the 103rd minute, while the third goal for Shan United was scored by Emmanuel at the 111th minute.Sylla scored the winning goal for Yangon United at 116th minutes.Yangon United lined up with goalkeeper Kyaw Zin Htet (captain), players Pyae Phyo Zaw, Nyein Chan Aung, Than Paing, Mg Mg Lwin, Sylla, Min Kyaw Khant, Kaung Htet Soe, Yan Aung Kyaw, Htoo Khant Lwin, and Anderson West.Yangon United had won the 2018 General Aung San Shield. In 2017, Shan United won the shield, Magwe F.C won on 2016 shield.
